HISTORY
Our lawyers have been actively engaged with Macau for more than 25 years
Since the firm's inception in 1996, C&C has sought to be at the forefront of Macau¡¯s business scene
and its growing importance as a member of the Pearl River Delta region.
We can trace back our history to the early 1980¡¯s when two lawyers with a combined experience of
legal activity in Portugal, Angola, Mozambique and Timor started their law practice in Macau.
Fifteen years later, Ant¨®nio Correia and Rui Jos¨¦ da Cunha joined forces and merged their two law
offices to form C&C out of their desire to start an innovative project.
This spirit of innovation that guided our founding partners has inspired us to find new ways to
improve our services and to look for an effective and balanced growth strategy. The last few years
saw us forming successful partnerships with leading law firms in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Guangdong,
Fujian and Lisbon which have expanded our client data base and that further facilitate transactions
between Macau and the rest of the world. This includes JSM, also known as Johnson Stokes &
Master and now recently combined with Mayer Brown, one of the leading law firms in Hong Kong;
PLMJ, perhaps the biggest law firm in Portugal and with an extensive network of domestic and
international contacts; Sunny-Law firm, a law office of reputation in Zhuhai which does business inthe whole Guangdong province; and AllBright Law Offices, one of the largest private partnership
law firms in The PRC.
We currently have a multicultural working environment of 25 lawyers, notaries and trainees, and a
supporting staff of more than 30. Our office is prepared to handle projects in English, Portuguese,
Spanish, French, German, Cantonese or Mandarin, and we combine technical know-how with an
understanding of the idiosyncrasies of Macau.
Over the years we have helped shape and have been involved in several deals in the region, watching
Macau steadily grow from a small Portuguese enclave into a region of an exciting and vibrant
business atmosphere full of investment opportunities. With an accumulated experience of more than
25 years in the legal area of Macau, we look forward to the future and its challenges.
